Objective To investigate the clinical effect of full thread headless hollow compression screw in the treatment of distal tibial triplane fracture. Methods From November 2017 to August 2018, 12 patients with distal tibial triplane fracture were treated with full thread headless hollow compression screw. Before treatment, all patients were subjected to ankle anterioposterior, lateral X-ray films and CT examination. All the patients received open reduction and internal fixation with full thread headless hollow compression screw. After treatment, fracture healing and the ankle joint function recovery were observed during follow-up. Results All patients were followed up for 6 to 12 months. Fractures were healed. No loosening or fracture redisplacement occurred. The results were excellent in 8 cases, good in 4 cases, fair in 0 case, and poor in 0 case, and the excellent and good rate was 100% according to American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society(AOFAS) at the last follow-up. Conclusion The full thread headless hollow compression screw is effective in the treatment of distal tibia triplane fracture. It’s little trauma, less complications, firm fixation, early functional exercises, and good repair effects. So, it can provide reference for the treatment of distal tibia triplane fractures. |
